Topic: Feedbacks / API Improvements Would also be good If we could apply S3 security, or if it just used the bucket security rather than making them all public. |

Topic: Issues / Something wrong with Flash H.264 encoders Hi, since today our files encoded as mp4/h.264 for Flash are not working properly.. the full file needs to be downloaded before it plays. It seems like the fast-start header is not set any more? Here are our encoder pre-set ids… 1664,1665,1666,1495,1667,1668,1669 All been working fine for last 3 months, not changed anything our end – anything we can do to get this working again? Anthony |

Topic: Development / Ping retries? Hi, can we send back errors to force your server to retry.. eg a 500 server error, or 408 timeout? What’s happening is sometimes our request fails half way through, occasionally our request back to heywatch to get the video info timesout, or getting the thumbnail etc… so if we just abort the request and send back a 500 error, will your server try again? |

Topic: Issues / Output bitrates much larger than my setting Ok, I think this is just a problem with the short 30sec test files I’ve been using.. larger videos seem to even out much better closer to the actual bitrate. |

Topic: Development / Setting bitrate/size in job creation Hi, is there a way we can send bitrate and video size parameters when we create the jobs? I know I can just create custom formats for each.. but can we just use 1 format and send in additional options (ill need 20+formats to cover all the combinations we need)? Anthony |

Topic: Issues / Output bitrates much larger than my setting Nope, actually the input bitrate on my test files was < 500kbps, my output is set to 450 video, audio 32. Im creating jobs from the api, apart from my own params & the format_id the only additional setting I have is the deinterlace=true. Ill try with a few more different input videos to see if its the same. I can send you the video and format ids if you need to take a look. |

Topic: Issues / Output bitrates much larger than my setting Hi, I understand your probably using variable bitrates based on the setting we use so I expect some variance.. but I’m getting output bitrates 2-3x my input setting.. 512kbps is giving me 1-2mbps files. Anything I can do about this? Im using H.264 and also xvid mp4’s. |

Topic: Development / De-Interlace on auto encode? Hi, I’ve got Heywatch setup to automatically encode uploads and send them to S3. We want to de-interlace the videos, can we turn on the de-interlace using the direct upload form method or have it turned on permanently in our account? Or have we got to turn off the auto encode, track the transfer ping and send the encode request manually? Anthony |

Topic: Feedbacks / H.264 that works with iPods and Flash? Yes, I think its the h.264 profile.. in Quicktime I choose the MPEG-4 option, select h.264, and in the advanced video options select the restrict profile option to ‘baseline’ and deselect ‘main’, if your using ‘main’ iPods will need the extra conversion. |

Topic: Feedbacks / H.264 that works with iPods and Flash? I’ve just tried some conversions with the Flash H.264 & MPEG H.264.. but they do not directly sync to an ipod, itunes still needs to convert them. This is on a 3g video nano and an iphone. Anyway we can make it work without itunes needing to convert them? |

Topic: Feedbacks / H.264 that works with iPods and Flash? Hi, Can you do a h.264 format that works with ipods and flash so we don’t need 2 seperate conversions? This can be done, I do it in QT its just down to selecting the correct profile.. You need an mpg enclosure with h.264 and restrict to the ‘baseline’ profile only – and not ‘main’. Or, perhaps you can do a .mov enclosure and make it fast-start? Anthony |
