If a ping operation fails (e.g. due to the being unreachable), does HeyWatch retry? If so, how frequently and for how long?

Yes, HeyWatch retries 5 times every 10 seconds.

Hi, can we send back errors to force your server to retry.. eg a 500 server error, or 408 timeout?

What’s happening is sometimes our request fails half way through, occasionally our request back to heywatch to get the video info timesout, or getting the thumbnail etc… so if we just abort the request and send back a 500 error, will your server try again?

Yes, we retry if we get a 4xx, 5xx error.
