We’ve been trying to encode a video into FlashVideo H264 (MP4) and when creating a new encoding format based off the FlashVideo H264 format, we get strange results.

The base format is 320×240 at 800k. We simply want to create a format that is 480×360 at 600k… when creating a custom format changing only those parameters, we get some strange results. It seems to output a 480×360 at about 1.7Mbit. And what should be about 9-10 MB is about 25 MB.

Any idea why this is happening?

Do you use an encoding option like keep_quality?

We’ve also been noticing a rise in filesize output. Using the same Flash Video (h.264)(FLV)
